I have always been in awe of the beauty that Mother Nature has bestowed upon us. My greatest desire is to capture that one special shot—from a beautiful landscape, sunrise or sunset, flowers, birds or animals. Capturing them in their unique settings is especially gratifying. I am inspired by the sun rays shining through a cloudy sky and the red glare of the sun setting on snowy mountain peaks.
I am impressed with the challenge of composing the scene as well the art of editing the raw picture. I do all my own work from taking the picture, editing it in Photoshop, or other panoramic stitching software and preparing it for printing. Currently my images are captured with a Canon 50D; thus giving a high resolution image.
My panoramas are shot in HDR, edited in Color, B&W or Infrared; thus giving a variety of appearances of the final product. My preference in HDR is for as natural an image as possible; however for some special effects I will adjust the colors to achieve the desired result.
I have learned that it takes an average of 100 to 200 shots to get that one very special picture--the one that freezes that particular moment and preserves it for all eternity. It’s a matter of being in the right place at the right time. Sometimes you just get lucky. More often, it pays to simply preserve and always be aware of the natural wonders that surround us.
